Who we are
Interior Buddy is published by Aguirre Technologies LLC. The app helps you scan interior spaces with an iPhone camera, preview design styles, and optionally infer a style from a Pinterest board you connect.

What the app stores on your iPhone
By default, Interior Buddy works on the device. It does not require an Interior Buddy account.
- Room scans: detected floors and walls, optional room names, AR world maps, and photos you capture while scanning.
- Floor plans: images you choose from Photos.
- Projects: the style you picked and the furniture layout generated from the scan.
Camera access is used only to scan rooms and show AR. Photo Library access is used only when you attach a floor plan. Interior Buddy does not upload those files to Aguirre Technologies servers today. If you back up the iPhone (for example with iCloud Backup), Apple may include app files in that backup under Apple’s terms.
Pinterest, if you choose to connect
Connecting Pinterest is optional. If you tap Connect Pinterest, you are sent to Pinterest to sign in and approve Interior Buddy. We request only:

We do not request write access, ads access, or secret-board access unless we later ask you to grant those scopes in a new permission screen.
After you approve, Pinterest returns an authorization code. A token exchange uses Interior Buddy’s Pinterest app credentials on a server we control. Access and refresh tokens are then stored in the iPhone Keychain, not in source code and not in GitHub. We use the pins on the board you pick (titles, descriptions, and image colors) to infer a design style and place furniture in your scan. We do not post Pins, follow people, send messages, or run ads on your behalf.
Pinterest is a separate service. Their handling of your Pinterest account is described in Pinterest’s privacy policy.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your scans or Pinterest pins for advertising.
- We do not scrape other people’s Pinterest boards. The integration only reads boards you grant through OAuth.
How long we keep information
On-device projects remain until you delete the project or delete the app. Pinterest tokens remain until they expire, you disconnect Pinterest, or you delete the app. If a Pinterest token is leaked, Pinterest may revoke it. You can also revoke Interior Buddy from your Pinterest account settings.
Children
Interior Buddy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
- Decline camera or photos permission. Scanning or floor-plan upload will not work until you allow it in iOS Settings.
- Skip Pinterest and pick a style in the app instead.
- Delete a project or delete the app to remove on-device data we stored.
- Revoke Pinterest access in your Pinterest account security or app settings.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Interior Buddy after an update means you have read the revised notice.
